Hernández

a story of passion and curiosity.

  • "I began working part-time at the age of 16 at a Tex-Mex restaurant in the South Street Seaport. In 2009, I joined the team at Five Points Restaurant (now known as Vic’s), where I discovered my passion for the art of cocktail crafting."

  • "Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping open several acclaimed restaurants, including Peels, Rosie's, and most recently, Bellwether—where I took on the role of Bar Manager and led the development of the bar program. Each opening allowed me to shape the guest experience from the ground up, curate thoughtful cocktail menus, and build bar teams driven by creativity and precision.".

  • "I’m currently the Lead Bartender at Freemans, one of New York City’s most iconic hidden gems, tucked at the end of a historic alley in the Lower East Side. With over a decade of experience, I bring a deep passion for cocktail culture, leadership, and hospitality to every shift. At Freemans, I’ve helped elevate the bar program by curating a menu that balances creativity, technique, and approachability. I take pride in mentoring my team, delivering exceptional service, and creating memorable guest experiences through every pour."
